UP NORTH Continued

So we have been loving it up north! It has been a quick trip, but a good one. Thursday was a cool day and so we played around the house. Daniel and Abby had fun playing with the kids across the street, in the street. It brought back memories of summers on the street. I am glad that they love being here so much. Everyone was here. All of the cousins! Friday our normal "Thanksgiving Feast" was changed to a steak extravaganza. We had blueberry, apple and strawberry rhubarb pie- ala red, white and blue. The was the year of new traditions. We decided to take Daniel to the public park to view the fireworks up close. He enjoyed it! He liked that they were so loud! Abby stayed with my mom and watched the "pretties" from our beach and then promptly fell asleep. I love that we have such a fun place to come to to create new memories and enjoy family traditions.

Yesterday was Papa's 90th birthday. We had quite a bash! About 40 friends and relatives gathered to spend time with him. He was touched. I will have to post pictures later. We ate and ate and ate. Dan and I went to see Hancock
It was a great flick!! "Call me crazy one more time" is my new personal tag line! We came back and enjoyed fireworks. It was great to have everyone together for Papa. He really enjoyed seeing everyone, but said that he would have rather watched Lawrence Welk than watch the fireworks! Sounds about right.
